Before you begin...

Before you begin, here are some quick dos and don’ts. If your design meets these requirements you may send us your files and information.

If your idea does not meet these requirements you can check out our list of Design Partners to find someone that can assist you

Do:

  • Upload a high-quality JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, or PDF.
  • Make lines and dimensions easily visible and clear.
  • Sketch your drawing on graph paper (preferred).
  • Take your photos directly above the graph paper or template.
  • Ensure your drawing contains dimensions and callouts for every feature.
  • Plan ahead: give adequate time for your part to be designed and plan for some back-and-forth with the design staff.
  • Ensure you have adequate contrast between your template and background
  • Send paper, cardboard, or other disposable templates. We cannot ensure the return of your template once we have received it.

Don't:

  • Upload low-quality or blurry images
  • Upload low-contrast images
  • Send images of someone else's protected idea/part
  • Send signage, decor-based or text based files
  • Request assembly design: all parts must act as standalone designs. Interdependencies between parts must be defined by dimensions and not other parts.
  • Request engineering services or advice; all parts must be fully defined prior to engaging the Design Service
  • Overcrowd your drawing with dimensions and notes
  • Send the only version of a template or templates that are of value. We cannot ensure the return of your template once it has been received.

Frequently Asked Questions

This will depend of various factors such as complexity of your drawing or template, revisions and approval. Generally speaking, we can have your file ready in 2-3 days.

We cannot guarantee the return of templates we receive. We do not recommend sending templates of value in for reversal.

We’ll add your files to your account so you can order them when you wish. Your files will not be available as a download.
