Skeptical? We’ve heard that before! Read through our Fusion export guides to learn how to export a great-looking 2D DXF file from a sketch or flat pattern in the free, personal use version of Fusion 360.

In fact, we recommend exporting this way even if you have the paid version of Fusion. Exporting a DXF from the sketch or flat pattern will ensure that your file retains the correct units (inches or millimeters) and meets our design guidelines.

Right-click on the sketch, then click Save As DXF to export your sketch to DXF from the free version of Fusion.
Create a sketch of the flat face of the part you need cut. Right-click on the sketch, then click Save As DXF to export the active sketch to DXF.
If you convert your part to sheet metal and create a flat pattern, you can export the flat pattern as a DXF.
