Can you send me a DXF of my Parts Builder part?

We’re unable to share DXFs for parts created in our Parts Builder. If you want to modify a part beyond the options available in the Parts Builder, our Design Services team or Design Partners can help! We also have CAD tutorials for free software like QCAD and Inkscape.

Can you provide partial depth cuts?

We only offer 2D perpendicular through-cutting in flat sheet materials and cannot produce any partial depth cut options. Learn about the variety of services we offer on our service pages. Before uploading your file, be sure to check out our guideline pages to make sure your file is production-ready!

Can I send you a cardboard template?

Yes! If you have a cardboard template of your design and need assistance turning it into a CAD file, our design services may be a good fit for you. Design services start at $49 and allow you to send us your physical template to convert to a CAD file.

Can I send you a sketch of my part?

Yes, if you have a sketch and need it converted to a CAD file, our design services may be a good fit! Design services start at $49 and allow you to send us a sketch or template that we then convert into a CAD file for you.

What if I don’t have a CAD file?

If you don’t have a CAD file, there are multiple options available! You can use our free Parts Builder, enlist our Design Services for sketch-to-CAD conversion, or contact one of our trusted design partners.

Why won’t my STEP or STP file upload?

Please ensure your STEP file contains a single, solid sheet metal body. We cannot accept multiple bodies stitched together / assemblies, or bodies with non-uniform thicknesses. Parts with bending services must have sheet metal rules set up using SendCutSend’s specifications.

Can’t add a service like bending/forming, countersinking, tapping, hardware insertion, deburring, anodizing, plating, or powder coating to your part after uploading your file to our website and selecting a material? How to set up my file for laser etching?

If you need to set up your file for laser etching, we’re happy to help! Please note: we don’t offer cosmetic etching or engraving. At this time we can only provide a faint single-line etch that is best for simple markings like part numbers and crosshairs.
