We have multiple etching limitations to keep in mind since we do not offer laser engraving or solid etching. We only provide single line etching at this time.
Single Line Etching Limitations
There are some considerations that are specific to single line etching.
- Single line etching is relatively faint and shouldn’t be used for any cosmetic or critical markings
- Single line etching should be limited to simple markings like crosshairs and part numbers
- We can only provide single line etching on specific metals; see the full list and examples here
Service Limitations
Single line etching shouldn’t be combined with services that will erase or cover any etch marks.
- Deburring (the deburring process erases the faint etch)
- Finishing services (anodizing, plating, and powder coating)
