What are your etching limitations?

We have multiple etching limitations to keep in mind since we do not offer laser engraving or solid etching. Our etching services are currently limited to single line etching.

Single Line Etching Limitations

There are some limitations that are specific to single line etching.

  • Single line etching is relatively faint and shouldn’t be used for any cosmetic or critical markings
  • Single line etching should be limited to simple markings like crosshairs and part numbers
  • We can only provide single line etching on specific metals; see the full list and examples here

Service Limitations

Single line etching shouldn’t be combined with services that will erase or cover any etch marks.

Etching File Setup

Single line etching has specific file setup considerations. Learn how to set up your design here: Setting Up Your Design for Single Line Etching
