Can I paint my parts after they’re cut?

You can paint your parts once they are delivered to you. Preparing laser cut metal parts for painting is simple. Before you paint, roughen the surface with a Scotch Brite pad and then thoroughly clean the parts with acetone. (Make sure to wear gloves.)

For laser cut wood or plastic, just lightly clean off any dust or dirt that may have collected on the surface.

Keep in mind that painting is not a particularly durable or long lasting finish for your parts, so we recommend our online powder coating service for eligible materials. Learn how to set up your design for powder coating in our service guidelines. Then add powder coating to your part before checkout from our website!

You can paint your parts at home if desired, but we offer powder coating services for a durable finish.
