How to Order Parts on SendCutSend

Play Video

It starts with a CAD design

Upload your CAD design, get an instant quote, we manufacture it and ship it right to your door. All within 2-4 days for standard orders.

We currently only work with 2D vector files. These files need to be in 1:1 scale, in .dxf, .dwg, .ai, or .eps format. There should only be one part per file, and only the cut lines for the part you wish us to produce.

Follow our design guidelines

Make sure your file is set up for our lasers by following our Design Guidelines. Get tips on how to prepare your artwork for each of our cutting services that we provide. We also have additional design criteria listed on each of the Materials Pages.

No CAD file? Try our Parts Builder

If you don’t have a DXF file for laser cutting, no problem! You can now select, customize and order a variety of parts from simple brackets to house numbers in a matter of minutes.

Utilize our additional services

We offer a variety of finishing processes and services to get your parts looking exactly how you imagine. Familiarize yourself with our services and guidelines before uploading your design.

Anodizing

Choose anodizing for lightweight corrosion resistance. Our convenient Class II anodizing service adds durability and character to your laser-cut parts.

Bending

We know your projects are multi-dimensional. Get freshly bent metal parts, right off the machine.

Countersinking

For flush surfaces, there’s countersinking. Increase the lifespan of your part and preserve your hardware from long-term wear.

Hardware

Let SendCutSend and PEM fasteners set your parts up for success with self-clinching nuts, studs, and stand-offs.

Plating

Protect your designs with plating. Zinc electroplating helps defend your parts from rust while increasing strength and resistance to wear.

Powder Coating

Custom powder coating gives your laser and waterjet cut parts a bold, long-lasting finish and protective layer which provides corrosion, oxidation, and damage resistance.

Tapping

Utilizing specialized, automated equipment, we precisely laser-cut a hole, create some threading, and send you on your way with your completed part.

Deburring

Our laser cut deburring/finishing process is included at no cost because we want you to have good-looking parts when they arrive at your door.

Understand our limitations

We can cut just about anything, but there are certain material specifications we need to meet for our lasers to cut their best. While we provide free 3-5 day shipping on all standard orders and $19 shipping to Canada, we have some shipping limitations as well.

How to export from Rhino3D?

Need to export a flat DXF file from Rhino3D? The best way to create a successful design for laser cutting is to use one of SendCutSend’s Recommended Software. Rhino3D is not on our preferred software list because compared to other design tools, Rhino3D tends to produce inconsistent exports. However we understand it’s not always

How to export from PTC Creo?

Exporting a successful 2D vector file from PTC Creo is not straightforward, so Creo is not one of our preferred software. We highly suggest using software like Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or Solidworks. If Creo is your preference, though, check out our Video Guide for How To Export in PTC Creo. Once your file is

How to export from TurboCAD?

When exporting a design file from TurboCAD, the program often creates duplicate and intersecting paths that our lasers cannot process. This happens sometimes when a 2D flat pattern is exported from a 3D design. For this reason, we recommend that you use one of our recommended software instead. However, if you only have access to

How to export from TinkerCAD?

TinkerCAD is a challenging platform for us to process, since it does not export true DXF files that we use for defining cutting paths. For this reason, we strongly suggest that you use one of our recommended software instead. However there are a couple options available for exporting from TinkerCAD Once your file is exported

How to export a DXF from Shapr3D?

Export the flat face of the part at 1:1 scaling, with no borders, dimensions, or other information. Project the body’s edges to the plane parallel with the X/Y plane. After that, the drawing will be able to export correctly in a DXF. You can see more advice from a Shapr forum here. Please note, Shapr3D

How to export from Photoshop?

We cannot accept files saved directly from Photoshop (i.e., PSDs, PNGs, or JPEGs.) In order to produce your parts, we’ll need a 2D vector file of the shape to be cut (DWG, DXF, EPS, or Adobe Illustrator format.) Photoshop does not reliably produce the vector-based filetypes that we require. If you have access to
