Our laser-cut 6061 T-6 series aluminum alloy (aircraft grade) is a precipitation-hardened aluminum. We like this metal for its strength, toughness and excellent corrosion resistance. It’s one of the most common alloys for aerospace use.
6061 is also an excellent grade for welding, although 5052 is preferable for most non-aerospace fabrication applications. 6061 T-6 is typically used in high-strength applications with minimal forming/welding.

Our aluminum alloy is laser cut using high-purity nitrogen to give you a reduced oxide, clean edge. Using nitrogen as an assist gas reduces oxides from forming during the cutting process, so your parts are easier to paint, powder coat or weld without much additional processing like grinding or sanding.
Laser-cut aluminum may have a bit of dross (burr) on the underside of your part(s). This is a normal occurrence from the cutting process. Due to manufacturing variables, your parts may also have small cosmetic imperfections/scratches. If you require a cosmetically-perfect finish, additional processing is available.
