Polycarbonate is high-strength, high clarity, and is able to withstand impact at a wide range of temperatures.
This tough and transparent material can withstand high impact over a wide range of temperatures. It has a high heat deflection temperature and high modulus of elasticity. Polycarbonate (also known as Lexan) absorbs very little moisture, and has good high voltage insulating properties. This makes it ideal for use in electrical and electronic components. Transparency also makes it a superior option for transparent structural applications.
Polycarbonate / Lexan is perfect for high impact applications, as well as instrument panel covers, insulation applications and fittings. It's an incredibly versatile material, and is well loved in the robotics and automation industries. Please review our Design Guidelines here.
