CPM MagnaCut is a modern stainless tool steel designed to deliver high toughness, strong wear resistance, and excellent corrosion resistance all at once, something most steels can’t do. Instead of forming large chromium carbides, MagnaCut uses a fine mix of vanadium and niobium carbides while keeping chromium in solution, which significantly boosts rust resistance and edge durability. Thanks to its powder-metallurgy construction and a precise heat-treat process, it can reliably reach 60–63 HRC while staying impressively tough. The result is a stainless steel that performs like a high-end carbon tool steel but with far better resistance to moisture, staining, and harsh environments.
